The Election Integrity Project of Nevada has new important research on the 2026 Primary coming soon, subscribe to the Election Integrity Informer to recieve the information when it is released. Election crimes do occur in Nevada, and the law provides for investigating and punishing those crimes. In 2011, Amy Adele Busefink and Christopher Howell Edwards, senior ACORN executives, convicted of election fraud in connection with a voter registration scheme in which employees were paid a bonus to register voters. Busefink received a two-year suspended prison sentence and was ordered to pay a $4,000 fine and perform 100 hours of community service. In 2013, In Roxanne Rubin, a casino worker in Las Vegas, tried to vote twice in 2012. She was ordered to pay $2,481 and to 100 hours of community service. In 2014, Hortencia Segura-Munoz, an illegal immigrant living in Washoe County, Nevada, registered to vote under a false name and cast ballots in the 2008 and 2010. She was sentenced to time served (103 days in jail) and fined $1,000. In 2014, Las Vegas resident, Biqui Diana Parra Rodriguez used personal information of Mary Lou Aguirre to register to vote under her name in 2011 and in 2012. She was caught through the use of photo ID cards and facial recognition software that identified the two IDs. She pleaded guilty to two felony counts of registration fraud and identity theft. In 2016, Tina Marie Parks pleaded guilty to one felony voter registration offense. She was initially charged with 11 felony offenses for having improperly completed others' voter registration forms. She was sentenced to 48 months in prison. In 2017, Renaldo Johnson of Las Vegas pleaded guilty to one felony offense for submitting a falsified petition. Johnson was indicted on multiple charges related to submitting fake ballot signatures to have Jill Stein. Johnson awaits sentencing. In 2020, The Las Vegas Review-Journal published photographs of discarded mail ballots at an apartment complex during the June 2020 primary. Photographs and videos of mail-in ballots lying on the ground, on top of cluster mailboxes, in apartment common areas, and in trash receptacles. January 2025 Las Vegas resident Mark White was sentenced after pleading guilty to voting in both Nevada and Arizona during the 2020 presidential election. election crimes do occur and that Nevada law provides mechanisms to investigate and punish them.

EIPNv is available to assist citizen groups as well as political and business organizations on a non-partisan basis in their efforts to assure integrity in the voting process. Over the past 14 years, we have filed lawsuits requesting the clean-up of voter registration rolls and even new elections based on our findings.
